Singer, songwriter, producer, engineer and model Jahna Sebastian stopped by BBC Radio to do a live interview with Ashanti Omkar who showcases the latest music, arts and entertainment from South Indian and Sri Lankan communities. Omar also takes a look at the latest releases. Ms. Sebastian came by to promote her new EP, “Love Over Hate”.
During the 11 minute interview they discussed all things music, fashion, motherhood and her upcoming projects. Ms. Sebastian spoke about being an all around musician, producer, singer, mixing genres and some highlights of her career, like her performance at Glastonbury in front of 100,000 people with Kasabian. She also spoke about producing and recording for many artist, fashion and bridging the gap between the East and the West through her work in music, fashion and film.
Omkar has been playing Ms. Sebastian’s music for quite some time now and was excited to finally have her on the show. During the show, Ms. Sebastian’s record “Us” was played. When asked what inspired Ms. Sebastian to write “Us” she stated, “I view life itself as a form of art and creating something artful from it, and we can add magic through music, art and film to our everyday life. Music helps me to create a bit of magic through my lyrics and beats that you cannot only dance to but learn from through its message.”
Ms. Sebastian was recently named the face of high fashion designer Anton Petrov Atanasov’s line A.P. A London. She is currently working with artist Ainur Timergaliev on an upcoming project, working on her new LP and book.
