Before we go any further, we understand that every officer isn’t racist and that not every officer abuses his or her power. But, we have to start addressing the officers that are racist or that do abuse their power. This video was just released of Milton Hall, who was shot by 8 different officers, 46 times. 14 of the shots hit Milton, and 6 of the shots were from behind. What makes this even worse is that, “despite abundant evidence that officers showed a reckless disregard for Milton’s life, the U.S. Justice Department did not charge any of the officers responsible for the killing.” -ACLU of Michigan
So my question is, when is enough truly enough? When will the community start working together to put an end to this hate and put an end of officers thinking they wield all the power?
