Snow The Product’s latest mixtape “Good Nights and Bad Mornings 2: (The Hangover)” screams girl power. Songs like “Cookie Cutter Bitches” and “Dammit” drive home that mantra. From the onset of the project Snow separates herself from her femcee counterparts with a rapid fire style and high energy delivery. Snow’s tongue twisting flow and ability to trade bars with some of today’s hip hop heavies including Trae The Truth (“On Now”), Tech N9ne (“You’re Welcome”), Dizzy Wright (“Hopeless”), and Cyhi The Prynce (“Hold you Down”) show her strengths as an emcee . With production from up and comers like ID Labs, Money Moss, Arthur McArthur and The Cataracs, Snow proves that she didn’t need big name producers to create quality music. While “Good Nights and Bad Mornings 2” is a lengthy release (22 songs), the frenetic pace remains consistent throughout.
Taking her turn to speak on female-centric subjects like boyfriends that don’t pay attention (“Fuck Your Phone”), the sociology of women in hip hop (“Hopeless”) and of course, relationships (“Where We Are”) Snow never alienates her male listeners. Having too good a time and it’s ofttimes ill effects are themes found throughout, that help the project live up to it’s title. Pop heavy in it’s overall sound most of the songs wouldn’t be out of place in the club or on top 40 radio. You can even find some sounds of yesteryear on the Tupac rework “Cali Luv” and the TLC “Creep” sampled “Don’t Judge Me”. “Good Nights and Bad Mornings 2” is a collection of material that showcases Snow’s many talents as an artist and her ability to more than hold her own in an over saturated, male dominated market.
