Well it looks like Slim Shady has channeled Rick Rubin (as we previously had assumed) to produce the lead off single from Em’s upcoming “Marshall Mathers LP II”. On “Berzerk” we musically capture alot of Beastie Boys influence (classic break beats and hard guitar riffs) and Em getting back in touch with his favored aggressive like behavior. Rubin also cleverly samples Billy Squier’s “The Stroke” record to add even more adrenaline to the anarchy. With stabs at Chloe & Lamar, K-Fed and a nod to fellow Detroit artist Kid Rock, the song sets the bar high lyrically, musically and emotionally. It may be safe to assume there’s good reason why Slim chose to name this next project “MMLP2”, which drops on November 5th.
