Hailing from Greensboro, North Carolina, Rodd.D brings a more soulful and lyrical essence to this generation’s hip-hop. With influences such as Lupe Fiasco, The Beatles, Big Krit, Kid Cudi, etc, he strives to create a lane of his own with his witty lyrics and unique sounds. After releasing his first project “Below and Behind” in 2011, Rodd.D decided to gather himself and determine where exactly he wants to take his music.
In 2012, Rodd.D signed to the label Famous Republic/Take Off Records based in New York City. His first release under the label(Sade) did solid numbers and created a small buzz. Since then he has continued to focus on perfecting his craft and has begin to work on a joint EP with award-winning producer Skyz Muzik who has been credited for working with artists such as Kanye West, Drake, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Styles P and more! The EP(Hangar 31) does not have an official release date as of today, but Famous Republic and Rodd.D recently released the first single off the project titled “Qwes” produced by Skyz Muzik. Like most of Rodd.D’s recent releases, “Qwes” is filled with soul and live sounds. In the record Rodd.D expresses his thoughts and appreciation towards life, friends, the higher power and his hometown Marlboro County. Rodd.D also expresses to his fans to stay motivated and never settle for less. If you’re a fan of good quality hip-hop, this track will be appreciated.
