Born June 2nd 1987 in Toronto, Canada, Jae Ari (pronounced Jae ARE ee) was conceived ‘a miracle child’ during birth by his mother who was told her son didn’t have much of a chance past infancy. Developing through the years, at 13, he was rapping in what appeared to be something promising.
Fast forward, a great start publicly has been built off slaying emcees on the televised Canadian show “Much Music’s RapCity”. This opportunity has garnered celebrity co-signs by American director/actor Michael Rapaport, Canadian icon and Legendary MC Michie Mee, and Shady Records DJ Young Mase. Since being retired to the show’s Hall of Fame, he’s been featured in interviews, expanding and branding his network and more; opportunities that have risen have been endless.
Jae Ari’s debut EP “Black Winter”, was released February 28th 2011 independently. “We Good”, his current buzz-single, is a celebration to a coined phrase made popular by the emcee on “Much Music’s RapCity”, and an announcement that he is here at heart and all is well. “Music is basically what feelings sound like. Being able to express and relay who I am through my music and how I felt at that very moment is crazy. For people to understand where I’m coming from is humbling.”
Although receiving praise from both peers and the underground hip hop circuit, the release of his debut EP earlier this year, “Black Winter”, was commercially ignored. The project, however, was a stepping stone for his undeniable lyrical talent and business acumen. Following the release of his EP, Jae has been and is still currently performing across Canada and is now preparing to crossover to America and prove to the world he is ready to blow up internationally.
All of these experiences mean one thing for Jae Ari; to branch out his style and essence and be felt in the Hip Hop world. From his witty lyrics, to his assassin-like metaphors and his freestyling ability, Jae Ari isn’t selling himself short of anything less than a promise.
