On the intro cut from his sophomore album “Monotone”, Denver’s DramaTone reveals stark revelations behind the world and his adversaries. The song is called “The End Is Near” and follows a good versus evil story line. The eerie strings, haunting bass and chill giving chorus sounds lay the stage for Drama to proclaim an end to his old self, enemies and even the world we know itself. It’s quite cliche that Tone titled the album “Monotone”, because he delivers his verbiage with a touch of monotone to them. The end result puts forth a dream like aura to the song, furthering the restlessness that is contained within the Denver rapper’s brain. Think of him as a rap version of Keanu Reeves character in “Constantine”. Listen to both “The End Is Coming” and “Monotone” below, via Soundcloud.
