MopTop, a New England native who relocated to Chicago then New York City a few years ago, continues to break down genre-specific barriers as both a DJ and music producer. His eclectic style of mixing and production has captured the attentions of publications such as NY Magazine, The Chicago Reader, URB Magazine (Next 100), and more.
Today, he delivers a new single, “The Moon,” featuring Telli from Ninjasonik, G.R.A.M.Z. and singer, Mairys Joaquin.
The release comes at the close of a Summer that presented numerous opportunities for MopTop. In these past few months, MopTop has performed in Chicago, Boston, Philly and New York city – opening up for acts such as Talib Kweli, Zara Larsen, and Jason Derule. “The Moon” is the perfect example of MopTop’s multifaceted musical style – one that he’s cultivated and perfected for a number of years in Chicago’s underground music scene.
