Fairplay is a true representative of Chicago. He has an undeniable love for his city, apparent throughout his numerous visuals, singles, and newest EP. He isn’t afraid to speak honestly about poverty, violence, and his personal experiences in the streets of Chicago.
His highly anticipated debut project “FEDS (Friends Enemies Demons And Saints” has finally impacted. It’s been in the works for years, and is Fairplay at his absolute best. The EP is exclusively produced by LawBeatz, who utilizes dusty hip hop instrumentals with hard hitting 808’s. The struggle continues to be real for Fairplay and with a full length he can expand on his vivid street tales. You’ll get to know him as a man, friend and artist. By the end, you’ll be rooting for him to make it out of the city.
Along with it comes a visual to What U Mean, a stand out track off last year’s compilation tape, “Family And Money INT Vol. 1”. On “What U Mean?”, we see him once again in the windy city, using a double time flow to mix smilies and metaphors that you’ll have to play back a few times to fully understand. Camera work comes courtesy of Holiday Kirk, who captures Fairplay’s strong performance with precision.
