The word “samurai” roughly translates to “those who serve.” In the age of the Samurai, it was honorable to be obedient to your lord. SuNWhoa exemplifies these ideologies in all aspects of his life as he commits himself to obedient service to the Lord of lords. Black Samurai Music is intended to be the theme music for those who are committed to obediently serving the Lord wholeheartedly. BSM blends trap 808’s that hit harder than a kick to the chest, Wu-Tang style kung-fu samples, masterful lyrical dexterity and the pure essence of Hip Hop.
SuNWhoa collaborated with southern California producer Dav D Beats for the creation of the album. The duo created BSM in a matter of 16 hours, which they detailed in their short documentary 16 Hours and a Pizza. Dav D Beats is a seasoned producer of 15 years who participated in the 2014 Rapzilla Beat Battle and has produced music for artists such as The Game, Datin, John Givez and most recently Kyra De’Nae. SuNWhoa is also a seasoned musician who has had the opportunity to share the stage with E-40, KRS-ONE, Suga Free, he has performed live on FUSE TV and recently he had the honor of having his performance on JUCE Live mentioned as one of the best moments of 2016. Over the past 2 years, SuNWhoa has also developed his own clothing line B.U.I.L.D. which has been represented by individuals such as JGivens, Paul Pierce, and Nate Parker.
SuNWhoa and Dav D have a goal of selling 1000 units on the release date of Black Samurai Music. The duo also intends to donate all proceeds that exceed their goal to the Pasadena chapter of the Save Black Boys organization. For any additional information email [email protected]
