To kickstart her newly formed #MusicMonday series, Brooklyn phenom Latasha Alcindor premieres the Kaul produced “Thank You”. “Somebody told me I’m the bottom of the barrel, black & female so of course the won’t hear you” are the exact words L.A. uses to begin a verbal audio barrage giving a big f@%k you to all the doubters out there. The #MusicMonday series is just a pre-game for the release of the upcoming three part EP series, #LALytes, starting this summer. Get familiar to L.A. below.
Also, March 26th, L.A. will be performing her #LALytes show at world-renowned “National Sawdust” in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for a new series called “The Revolution” which is dedicated to highlighting Brooklyn’s most eclectic artists by occupying art and multimedia spaces in this gentrified paradigm NYC is going through. It is going to be an experience with FXWRK on the spins and #LALytes show for storytelling of a shorty from Brooklyn who is undergoing existentialism watching her world shift, and over time finds her magic through it.
Tickets can be bought in advance: http://nationalsawdust.org/event/in-situ-the-revolution/#toggle-id-3. Press passes are also available upon request.
