What’s up? For those that are new to the name, who are you, where are you from and what do you do?
Y’all Already know what it is , LED MADNESS from the bottom of the mitten, The Detroit representer. I’m a Detroit hip hop artist, rapper, producer, 1/8th of 18k.
How long have you been involved in making music and who are some of your influences?
Music has always been apart of my life, but for me actively I’ve been writing and producing since I was 16. Some artists that influenced me were hometown underground artists like Blade Icewood, Tuff Tone, Roc Bottom, and other artists like J Dilla, Eminem, D12, Slum Village, and many others to name.
What current projects are you working on?
Recently, I haven’t been too pressed to produce a mixtape, but with the demand of those I’m networking with, there has been a great request for me to release singles, so there will be a possible mixtape in the works.
How do you describe your style as an artist?
Describing my style musically, I would have to say very unorthodox. Detroit has it’s own style of music within the city that is like no other; the energy I bring, rapping about street life to the struggles of growing up in the city, to my current life, that’s where the mixed influence of Eminem, Icewood and Jay-Z take place and from a production stand point it’s no different.
What are you doing to stand out in today’s saturated music industry?
To conquer creation is a virtue for every artist. It’s taken years for me to develop a creative foundation that would keep me consistent with my craft for both writing and producing. I can’t elaborate enough, I’m from Detroit – going hard is what we do!!! So that answers two questions.
How do you feel about today’s mainstream hip hop scene?
I feel as if the industry is beginning to take more notice to Detroit artists like Big Sean, Danny Brown, Dej Loaf , Lil George, Icewear Vezo, Dex , and artists like myself. It’s a great feeling to see artists that grew up in Detroit and have made it into the industry.
