There’s no secret that there’s a violent epidemic that’s been occurring in Chicago for some time now. Senseless murders and the desensitizing of an entire community as the world is left to witness it all. Even controversial movie director Spike Lee has gotten involved with the situation with the release of his upcoming “Chi-Raq” film. With the media busy pointing fingers at the Drill music scene and condoning the street life image, the people of Chicago feel trapped inside of a warzone. Politicians are focused on capital gains while the city’s own police force is becoming as brute as the ones carrying out killings.
With all the negativity surrounding the city of Chicago, someone is trying to shed a positive light on the city and provide hope for tomorrow. Enter Pinqy Rinq and her latest visual release, “Where Do We Go From Here?”. The record is a riveting release that directly addresses the issues concerning the violence that’s now became a near everyday occurrence. Pinq also gets assistance from the HHW Youth Choir, who provide a spine-chilling chorus line.
Pinqy is no stranger to helping within Chicago. She’s currently assisting in a holiday toy drive via Lydia Home Orphanage. Check out the video for “Where Do We Go From Here?”, then head over to the following link to learn more pertaining to the toy drive.
