It’s no secret that Chicago, Illinois hosts home to a wide range of musical talents. Although that fact is still somewhat unknown by the rest of the country, the following artist is striving to change that with his latest mixtape release, “Loyalty Over Everything”. Showcasing classic Chi-City demeanor, Bang captures the essence of the city will solidifying himself as an artist to be reckoned with. GYBU caught wind of the Illinois artist and had to swoop thru for a few questions about L.O.E. and what he has going on. Join us as we @GetBuzzed with Chicago rapper Bang.

We appreciate you swinging by to #GetBuzzed with us Bang. So it’s already been said that you’re from Chicago. While first previewing the mixtape, I came across your song that shares the same name as your hometown. I was immediately drawn in by the beat. It screams prohibition and the whole classic gangsta era that Chicago is notorious for. Who’s responsible for producing the track and what inspired you to flip this particular instrumental?

So first off, the beat was produced by Chasin Dough. When I first heard the track, I automatically knew this was the one. As an artist, sometimes you have to listen to a beat over and over again before you get into the vibe. But as soon as the bass dropped in on, I felt that energy you get when you’re in the zone. Once I came up with the hook I knew this track had to be on the mixtape.

“Keep It 100” was one of the two singles you promoted to back the mixtape. This record obviously is of a more personal tone. The song will appeal to both male and female listeners and it also addresses the issue of commitment & loyalty. Do you feel this song was important to get out there? Was this record inspired from personal experience?

This song is one of my personal favorites. It’s definitely important because this track opens the door to my mentality on dating and relationships. I feel people are too caught up in playing games to get what they want. So the message I’m trying to get out is that you can be yourself and keep it 100. You’ll get further with a person by being real. The track wasn’t inspired by just one experience, it’s always been my approach to women.

Being from Chicago it’s only right you serve up something for the streets and you do just that on “I Don’t Fucks Wit You”. With a highly infectious instrumental, the song helps encompass the outlook of how many of us feel today. In a way, it’s like you’re the mouthpiece for those that are upset with their current life situation, mad with their boss or just dealing with shiesty people in general. Is this a motto that you live by Bang?

This is definitely me 100%. Keeping it real is like a second religion to me. Two kinds of people I cannot deal with are fakers and haters. I know alot of people can relate because we’ve all came across fake friends or people at least once in our lifetime. But hopefully By listening to my music, I can convert fakers and haters to real people.

Now that the mixtape has been released, do you plan on following up any of the songs with a visual treatment? What else can we expect from you in 2015?

I currently have a video for “Only God” and I have “I Don’t Fucks Wit You” in the works. “Keep it 100” or “LOE” will be the next track I shoot a video for. And you can stay updated on my videos at www.youtube.com/68throop.
