In a day & age of exaggerated rhymes and falsehoods, Che Rhenosonce serves up some realness on “The Undisputed Truth”, a five track EP full of quality material the Brooklyn, New York native can be proud of putting forth. Please join us as we take an in depth look in the project.

“The Undisputed Truth” starts off with it’s most powerful track, “Dayz Like This” and properly sets the tone for the entire EP. Tone Jonez provides an uplifting soundscape that exalts a very powerful message, life isn’t always going to be sunny but there’s always light at the end of a tunnel. Both Che & Chase deliver solid verses but it’s the chorus that carries this song home. “Momma said there’d be days like this/ so we rocking with it, plus we’ve came along way off the block with fitteds/ to making moves we don’t have to plot to fit in/ and the only way is up so we’ve got to get it.”

“Around The Way” carries a strong old school vibe to it, like Tribe Called Quest’s “Electric Relaxation” and strong song’s such as those from that particular era. The song touches on man’s everyday struggle in hoods worldwide. This track carries features from Rizzo Corleone & Akinola with Rizzo stealing the track with his clever wordplay. “It’s sad nowadays you’ve gotta exercise your money, let that dollar stretch/ and honeys try to pull ya hamstring if you ain’t got it yet”. Tone Jonez does a great job providing the instrumental for this one as well, yet another blessing from the EP.

The project then diverts it’s production angle to Wit for the uplifting feeling of “Out The Box”, the only song of the five without a guest verse feature. The song speaks on originality in a time of trend followers. Wit’s production approach puts the listener into another realm, almost movie like.

Che then switches things up again on the Serious Beats produced, “Take My Time” featuring Rizzo Corleon once again. These two gentlemen really compliment themselves; Che with his subtle approach and deeper voice and Rizzo with his brash, in depth delivery and higher octave vocals. We can only hope these two work out a collab effort in the near future. Rizzo preaches “Love, man I welcome it with open arms/ but in the past it was a crash, set off the smoke alarms”.

On the fifth and final song to “The Undisputed Truth” is the Chase Innis & HighLight assisted “Strawberry Clouds” with Tone Jonez taking control of the production end again. The chorus touches on change and a strong belief in God, something that alot of us struggle to come to grips with while growing up in the hood. It also depicts searching for a better life and not succumbing to the pitfalls of drug & alcohol abuse. Che snaps off at 00:28 and the closing of the song offers some clever production to close the EP out.

“The Undisputed Truth” was carried out correctly in my opinion. It offers positive messages while not being corny, features quality production and the features that are included on the five songs are meaningful. Che Rhenosonce took a stand and created music that is outside of the box and it’s a refreshing breath of fresh air, especially in the era of hip hop we are living in. Each song is available as a free download from Che’s Soundcloud page and can be streamed via the player provided. Make sure to put some truth back into your life with “The Undisputed Truth”.
