Buzz ‘N’ Interview W/ @DARQBXKI

Darq, what’s up good sir? You are def Buzz’n out here in 2014 early.

What’s up Get Your Buzz Up!!! I’m definitely trying to get a leg up early in the game. Thank you for having me.

Lets jump right into this new single ‘Run Away’ F/ Amy Davis and Produced by Drawzilla (Producer for Jadakiss, Bun B, Maino & More) And N.O.C. How did you and Drawzilla link and whats the concept behind the record?

Drawzilla and I know each other from coming up in the underground scene. Comrades Corp. sent myself and Amy Davis the beat, hook, and concept and it fit us perfectly. We recorded the song and brought their vision to light. The song, “Runaway” is about the everyday struggle and how much we all want to run away. This concept, though puts an uplifting spin on things and shows how to run away in a different, more positive direction. It’s a beautiful record.

We know you always put out dope visuals to your singles, when can we get that GetYourBuzzUp.com Exclusive for Run Away?

Kristian Kruz, the man who directed my epic movie, “R.A.W.(Risk it All Willingly)” will be doing this next one. It is currently in pre-production and we’re expecting a spring release. I’m excited about the direction the video is taking so please keep your eye out.

Also Congrats on your 2013 All Star Award for Best Collaboration, this makes 5 years in a row you have won some type of underground award. What is it about Darq that makes you stand out amongst the saturated underground hip hop scene?

Thank you. I believe I portray hip-hop with a message. My lyrics are understandable and poetic. I have a RAW energy in my performances and in my writing that I believe most people can relate to.

You also had quite the run with Live Nation this year opening for Kid Ink, MGK and are about to open for Bone Thugs & Harmony & Freeway soon. How did the Live Nation connect come about and how has it heightened your level of exposure to the public?

A friend of mine, Andy Riehs who worked at Live Nation was a fan of my music. He happened to view the video for “R.A.W. (Risk it All Willingly)” and passed the word on to other Live Nation reps. I’ve been consistently booked for Live Nation events ever since. My career has been taken to another level and I am blessed for this opportunity. Performing with bigger artists, in bigger venues is spreading my music to a whole new, larger audience.

Word is you have a new record dropping with the big BX homie, Fred The Godson, I know bars were spit, what can we expect?

Yezzirr! I have a record coming out with the big homie Fred The Godson and Remo The Hitmaker called, “I’m Ready.” The bars are on another level and Fred and I went in. You can expect a new anthem for the Bronx and you won’t be disappointed

What else is in store for Darq in 2014?

There is a new album on the way which is not yet titled and we will be launching a visual campaign with commercials, animation, videos, and Instagram promos. I am staying focused and trying to get the music out to the people but I can’t give away all my secrets so…stay tuned.
