Madison, Wi hip hop collective 3rd Dimension drops off their latest project “Merch”. Hearing group projects in today’s “me first” society is becoming rare, hearing group projects that are good is even more rare. 3rd Dimension provided us with one. “Merch” sports blue collar sensibilities with a technical skill that rap purists clamor for. Keeping the production mostly in-house with Burn$ampsoN and Jay Short Music the backdrops feature everything from soulful samples to laid-back joints to ride to. Probz, Rico, Spaz, and Half-Breed bring their unique abilities to the project and help propel each other to higher plateaus. With an easily recognizable midwest influence “Merch” offers up a little something for just about everyone.
If riding and chillin’ is your thing, “That Shit” and “I’m Good” are for you. If hugging the block and grinding sun down to sun up is your forte than “High Knees” and “Money In The Street” is more your speed. If you are on the hunt for bars look no further than “Most of All” or “Merch’s” final track “Outro”. Complete with tag team verses, mutlti syllable rhyme schemes, outstanding production and even a little Drake-ing 3rd Dimension has cooked up some very potent “Merch”.
