R.E.A.L tha Poet is a twenty five year old rapper/ poet based out of Lexington, Kentucky and his main musical influences are Outkast, A Tribe called Quest, Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West. His newest video “Dream Deferred” just dropped and can also be found on his “Glass Ceilings” project that’s out now. The song is produced by J-Ideas and the video is also filmed and edited by him as well.
“Dream Deferred” is a song about failure, doubt and rebirth within oneself. The story I use is one from my own personal experiences. I was blessed enough to play college basketball on several different levels via scholarship, however my true calling was music. When you ignore the undeniable God has a way of shifting your life around to have his will done. At the time I didn’t understand, but with time comes peace.
