Buzz’N Interview w/ Derty Den
Derty Den chops it up with GetYourBuzzUp.com in this exclusive Q&A.
What’s good Derty, tell us what have you been working on?
I’m working on the brand new highly talked about Limitless street album. It may just be my best work thus far.
You’ve been out of the loop for a while since you dropped your last project the Tony Soprano Mixtape. Why the long layoff?
I been in the studio heavy making sure this Limitless project is as great as it can be – I’m a perfectionist when it comes to delivering a body of work.
Now that you’re back on the scene with some fire, what can we expect to hear on Limitless?
It will be nothing you expect. I really went outside the box on this project with the production and the content. We had fun recording this project. It really helped me see how lyrically advanced and how great of a song writer I really am.
I heard “Ghetto Sound” and thought The Jaggerz sample was ill. Did the concept for the song come to you as soon as producer Half Man/Half Amazing pressed the play button?
On this particular song I already knew where I wanted to go with it. Halfman delivered as usual, I love working with The Legion of Producers, some how they always know what I’m looking for.
You got another joint that’s buzzing in the South dubbed “Stacks In My Pocket.” Tell us a bit about it.
Yea, that’s heating up real heavy in the club. Shout out to Hitman for making that one. It’s actually a fun record and we had a lot of fun recording it, poppin’ bottles, plenty loud and plenty girls, you know how we do it in the South.
If you had to describe you sound to a deaf person, how would you do so?
Its like watching a movie, everything is detailed and some say you can almost hear the explosions when the songs start to climax.
Who influenced you musically?
I gotta say Biggie Smalls.
Do you feel you have matured as an artist? If so, what aspects stand out more so now than before?
Yes, I’ve definitely matured as an artist. At first I was making music for my crew and not knowing how many bars go between the hooks, I just wanted to rap and talk shit but now I can confidently say I make good songs. Lyrically I’m nice, I’ll give the nicest a run for their money.
Let the people know where they can find you.
