Buzzin Interview W/ @NickCarterGreen

GetYourBuzzUp.com Interview

Hey NCG, for those new to the name let the readers now who you are and what you do?

-Wassup, my name is Nick Carter Green and I’m a hip hop artist out of Chicago, Illinois.

How did you get your start as an artist?

-I first got my start at the age of eight when my grandfather showed me how to record my first demo. It was a demo of mostly R&B music with a little bit of rap. It was a few years later at the urging of childhood friend that I began focusing all my attention on hip hop. We would do friendly rap battles, going back and forth challenging each other. He was much nicer than I was in terms his lyrical ability but he would always tell me that I had something there with my rhymes. I didn’t start to take him serious until he put in front of some older cats in the neighborhood who also rapped, and they embraced me.

Congrats on winning a recent ‘Get Your Buzz Up’ event in Madison WI, how does it feel to get recognized for your talent?

-It’s a feeling that’s kind of hard to explain. It’s really surreal after so many years of being unrecognized. Just to hear someone say that they appreciate what you do and they enjoy what you do is the ultimate reward, especially after you put so much hard work into creating your music and honing your craft.

When you are on stage performing what can the fans expect to see? What do you want them to remember?

-Fans can expect to see a show that is full energy. The same energy that comes from the track is the same energy they will get when they watch me perform. I’m always on 20 when it comes to my energy level and I can’t stand still for too long. I have to move around the stage because I like to connect with everyone. I want them to remember the energy that I bring, and I want them to know that when I do a performance, I give my heart to the crowd.

Are your working on any current mixtapes? Videos? New Single? Let us know what to watch for.

-Currently my mixtape XIX, which was released this past summer, is available for download on my website, www.NickCarterGreen.com and I’m in heavy promotions for that. The video for my first single, “Ghost,” is available online and can be viewed at my website. The video for my second single, “Don’t Wanna Lose,” was recently shot in Miami and is set to premiere in the next week.

Who are your musical influences?

-I have much respect for the old school and pioneers of hip hop. I would have to say because I grew up watching him and saw his evolution as a young boy with Cash Money Records to the hip hop mogul and icon he is now, Lil’ Wayne. Of course I pull inspiration from my hometown brothers, Kanye, Lupe, Common, and Twista, being influenced by their styles, too.

What project are you currently promoting?

-My mixtape XIX, available at www.NickCarterGreen.com

How are you trying to stand out as a new artist?

-I fuse together a lot of different genres when it comes to music. I try to remain unpredictable, careful not to place myself in a box where people will expect the same thing from me over and over again. So, I challenge myself in the studio, pulling from different sounds to give me that versatility to go in any market.
