Buzzin Interview W/@Izzrael_Light

Tell us about you and your movement?

Peace. My Name is Izzrael, and I am an Emcee/ Spoken Word Artist from
Cleveland, Ohio. My message is the Truth: That Knowledge is the
center of the Universe. I try to incorporate this theme into my music
as often, and as creatively as possible. I think it is important that
Artists with substance exist in order to spread this message to the
People, as Hip Hop can be a powerful vehicle to deliver messages to
the People.

When did you start to develop your artistry?

I began developing my craft as an adolescent, around 12 yrs old.
That’s when I was first able to visualize myself as a “rapper.” I can
remember writing rhymes in my notebook in middle school, using a
dictionary and a thesaurus to broaden my vocabulary and find more
creative ways to say things.

Who are some of your musical influences?

Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony was my biggest Influence Growing up. In
Cleveland, they were (are) Legends. I know more of their music than I
do anyone else’s. I loved the reggae, soul, and west coast elements
that they incorporated into a unique blend of artistry. Aside from
them, many East Coast Artists, Namely, Nas, AZ, A Tribe Called Quest,
Rakim, Talib Kweli, Big L, Notorius B.I.G., Jay-Z, Freeway, Beanie
Siegel, were in heavy rotation throughout my early years. I gained a
respect for the Midwest Artists too, Common, Eminem, Kanye West and
most importantly J-Dilla. J-Dilla inspired me to create my own style,
and to be inspired, ultimately by Self.

What current projects are you working on?

“Bread” is my second conceptual work, my sophomore effort. It really
has a different feel from SoUlarmusik. A lot of the production will be
different, including several tracks produced by Self. It has a very
deep message that is easy to follow, and appreciate. The Release is
Tentative, as it is still in the Creation stages. We are looking at
this as sort of a Coming out Party.

How are you planning to ‘Get Your Buzz Up’?

My Philosophy is simple. I believe in a Message of the Truth and
Positivity. Add that to Belief in Self, and you have a few Key
Elements vital to your personal happiness and success. I’m focusing on
some short-term goals right now, which mainly includes engaging my
ever-growing fan base in as many ways as possible, and networking with
as many people as I can professionally.
