Tell us about you and your movement

Prince Hood: Well we’re spreading the Swave worldwide. Swavorland Ent. is the company and the Movement. Swave Gang is the Gang. And H Squared (Prince Hood & Hi$tory) are the artists. We’re living that Swave Life and everyone is seeing it. And now they’re catching on and they’re joining and supporting our movement. And with ‘The Year of the Swave’ Album dropping, it really solidifies the beginning of the Swavordemic. Ya Dig!?

Hi$tory: Its All About Swavorland Ent. That’s the company, the label and the home base of All That is swave. For example we have the ‘Swavelife’ Youtube series giving the World a peek into the Life we live, at the same time educating the world about the Swavor. The Swave Gang spreading the swave every step we take. And u got Me Hi$tory H.I.M (History Inda Makin) One half of the dynamic duo Well known as H Squared.

When did you start to develop your artistry?

Prince Hood: I officially started back in 2002 with AFRO Productions and Da Suppliers. I learned literally moved from the ground up. Started off as a Hype man then became a manager to beat maker to artist. I wanted to learn every aspect of the music business and I pretty much did. I either “Debo” people to teach me or I taught myself and now I’m my own Executive/Engineer/Producer/Rapper.

Hi$tory: Like my Swave brother, I was brought up in music. Having a Caribbean background as a baby, I was in the Labor Day Parade in a stroller, so it’s in my blood. I started as a young dude, listening to and spitting all of Busta Rhymes Songs, performing them in talents shows and all. Then around age 12 I started writing my own rhymes, and the rest is Hi$tory.

Who are some of your musical influences?

Prince Hood: Our Music is influenced by almost ever genre out there. From smooth Jazz to 80’s pop from Haitian and west Indian music to The Hip Hop that’s out now. I grew Up on 70’s disco cause my mom loved some Bee Gees and Donna Summer. I was a big Wu tang, Biggie, Aaron Hall, New Edition and Outkast fan growing up. My sisters and I took Guitar, Piano and Dance lessons when we where younger. My uncles were in Haitian bands so Music was always around me.

Hi$tory: Of Course I grew up listening To Biggie, Jay Z, and Nas like everyone else, but my main influences were definitely Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs And Harmony, That’s who I was really listening to when I started writing my own rhymes.

What current projects are you working on?

Prince Hood: The Year Of The Swave, man!!! Its out second Project we’re putting out since we became a group; the first under Swavorland Entertainment. Swavelife DVD or reality show might be in the works. We re also working on Production and features many other projects for artists like Young Boogs, Buck Rogers, Square Off and Young Steam just to name a few.

Hi$tory: Right now we’re working on everything and plan to work on a lot more. We’ve BEEN working with other artists on there projects, now we’re bringing you ‘The Year Of The Swave’. Something our listeners and supporters A.K.A “Swaves And Swavettes” have been waiting for.

How are you planning to ‘Get Your Buzz Up’?

Prince Hood: We‘re currently on the Coast2Coast featured artist page in Hip Hop Weekly. So we hope to get more print features. I think the biggest thing is getting Viral. Hi$tory and I are letting people into out lives with The ‘Swavelife’ Episodes with Hooka Guy and the rest of Swave Gang. We’re also trying to build relationship with blog sites and local and Internet radio stations. I would love to hear our songs played on Hot 97 or Power 105 but I’m happy knowing we getting play on Southern Muscle, Pregame and Swurv Radio just because they genuinely like our music. And one thing on our must do list is to be nominated and win a UMA award. They would be Swaved UP!!!

Hi$tory: Yeah Swave. We gonna keep doing what we’ve been doing. Grinding hard, continue to bring you good music and spreading the Swave far and wide. The music speaks for itself.
