Tell us about you and your movement.
My team and movement are recognized as Real Radio Records – “AM/FM Just Don’t Cut It.” It’s a self-owned independent record label founded by four people with including myself. We’re building the label from the ground up. Our goal is to keep putting out great, genuine Hip Hop music and put an end to all these fraudulent emcees that have no idea about the culture and just woke up one day and said they were rapper once and for all. With our talented squad of publicists, managers and in-house producers there is no doubt that our goal will be accomplished.
When did you start to develop your artistry?
I started to develop my art form at a very early age. I would have to say elementary school; I was about eight or nine years old. It all started with Uncle Ralph and Video Music Box. As I recall Public Enemy was holding it down. Shout out to Hip Hop!
Who are some of your musical influences?
I have so many musical influences but my favorites would have to be a young Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Slick Rick, Rakim, Kool G Rap, Biggie, Pac, Jay-Z, Big L, the Wu Tang, Loso, Big Pun, Eminem, 50 Cent and Hector Lavoe, who was a Puerto Rican Salsa singer that improvised a lot of his music sort of like how rappers’ freestyle of the top. It’s a long list but everyone I mentioned is or was extremely talented and can be found on my iPod to this day.
What current projects are you working on?
The Underground King street LP is almost finished but at this moment I’m currently working on a mixtape where I’m a basically black out on industry beats called Karaoke, The Industry Sampler. A lot of so-called tastemakers don’t respect a new artist’s original music, they want to hear you go over mainstream beats so I’m a make it do what it do. They respect no originality, taking cats’ beats and flows – wow! Rapping on industry beats is simple – piece of cake.
How are you planning to ‘Get Your Buzz Up’?
I plan on getting my buzz up and keeping it up by continuously putting out good music and shutting down stages so get with it, run with Real Radio or get left behind. That’s Real Radio!
