(New Video)-@The_OLDaysMusic @KiOfNC @Rookie_Chi “See You”

The Ol’ Days are a duo comprised of hip hop producer Ki’ of NC and videographer Rookie Chi. In 2009 Ki’ of NC made the move from North Carolina to Chicago in hopes to further his musical career as a producer. Ki’ began to do various beat battles to help promote his music and eventually met Rookie at a beat battle that he had been hired to film. The two formed a friendship and found they had the same musical influences in groups such as A Tribe Called Quest, Slum Village, and Pete Rock and CL Smooth. The two began to have writing sessions over Ki’s beats and eventually decided to form a group that represented true school hip hop.

While working on what was to become the first album, the Ol’ Days were able to open for Slum Village in their first official show, selling out Reggies Rock Club in the process. They quickly became known for their energetic live shows with a personal appeal through a steady flow of monthly gigs. After successfully dropping album 1979 to rave reviews, The Ol’ Days set their sights on perfecting their Live show and months later garnered the opportunity to open for Talib Kweli at Chicago’s Metro the past year. The future is bright for The Ol’ Days with the two tag-teaming on beats and visuals as they do but only the future will be able to tell what exactly will happen for these two boom-bap artists of the now.
