Back in April of 2014, recording artist Michael Medall was contacted by a good friend of his who had received news that his childhood friend, Michelle Ploetz, had been shot and killed. Upon receiving the news of Michelle, the friends decided to honor her and so many others lost in violence with a tribute song, “Remembering Michelle”. They began channeling positive energy and were lucky enough to lock in a beat by the legendary Madison, Wisconsin producer DJ Pain 1. Then, they secured a good friend and well known Madison Hip Hop artist, Sincere Life, to lay down some vocals to put together a very moving, yet meaningful piece of art. Our next step was to visually tell the story of losing Michelle, while bringing conscious awareness to the greater issue that is affecting us worldwide.
Finally, the production and completion of “Remembering Michelle” took place with the help of so many talented people. Throughout the music video you can see the pain of being at a crime scene, while also seeing the future of what could happen if we allow ourselves to stand silently and accept this violence.
