L.A. rapper Nipsey Hussle did it big on this one. Teaming up with DJ Drama for the release and following his iamproud2pay campaign Nipsey sold 1,000 hard copies of his latest release “Crenshaw” at $100 a piece, effectively making $100,000. (You can download the mixtape for free all over the internet.) The mixtape release features production from The Futuristics, 1500 or Nothin, Cozmo and more, plus guest verses from Dom Kennedy, Rick Ross, Slim Thug and Z-Ro. Independent artists are reshaping the musical landscape everyday and Nipsey Hussle just made (his)tory.
