David Sanchez aka L.A was born in Chicago and raised on the Northside of Albany Park. By the age of 13, music had become his way to escape the everyday hardships of growing up in the Windy City. The young hispanic was always misunderstood, but when he wrote rhymes and poetry he felt like he could explain the things in his life that no one really understood. By the time he was 18, L.A. recorded for his very first time. From the second he stepped into the booth, he knew that’s where he belonged.
Now, 5 years later, his only goal is to bring lyricism, struggle and truth back into the rap game to show that hip-hop isn’t lost yet. We’re stuck in a generation of meaningless music but hip-hop still lives. L.A. is inspired by true music where the artist actually takes the time to say something worth while and also has the creativity to make it well. His first mixtape, “12.1 CITY”, is what he calls “his blood, sweat an tears”. Working on his next new mixtape, “COCAINE & PISTOLS”, presented by GRAIN ENTERTAINMENT and also hosted by B.W.S.’s very own Nu Jerzey Devil. Till then he waits patiently for his time to shine.
Just recently, L.A. released his latest street heater and video to accompany it titled, “Pistol And Bandana”. A hard hitting, rugged look into L.A.’s mindset and gives a glimpse into the realness of Chicago’s inner city.
