Exclusive Interview w/ Producer @MightyFuzzYoung

Yo Mighty Fuzz! What’s up?
Everything is great, grinding 24/7/365…no time to sleep. Ambien is not an option (lol).
What have you been up to in the game?
Well I put out my original compilation in 2007, “For My Generals”, which received really good reviews. I worked with a few Hip Hop legends like Tragedy Khadafi and Jaz-O…did a joint with Pitbull…and I also worked with Uncle Murda right along the time of his Roc-A-Fella deal, so the streets were real receptive to what I was doing. Then I went on that “long vacation” but came back with the “For My Generals 2” project. We’re shooting 3 videos now, and have more lined up. Other than that, really just building my catalog for 2011 placements.
How is it being a new producer in the game?
Well, the only thing new are the kicks I bought yesterday (lol). Nah but I’ve been doing this for a minute, producing seriously for over a decade now. My discography dates back to 2004. Real talk, because of that “long vacation” it still feels like I’m a new producer, with so many things changing over the last few years. But I’m only 25 years old so there’s plenty of room to grow.
Talk to us a little about For My Generals 2.0?
“For My Generals 2.0” is a continuation off my first project in 2007. We got a good selection of exclusive joints, remixes, and blends. We have brand new joints with Joell Ortiz, Bizarre from D-12, Esso, Agallah The Don Bishop, Sean Strange, Cortez, D.Chamberz, & DNA.
Where does this project stand with the rest of your work?
I think this new project shows my growth as a producer… But the whole “For My Generals” is a tough series, and I’m definitely going to continue the tradition.
How has the iStandard Showcase helped you?
Well I took away some real gems that I use in my music to this day.  I remember the judges were Rockwilder, the engineer Ken Lewis, and there was a third one that I’m forgetting.  But I always remember the stuff they said that night: Ken Lewis telling me to get better with my mixing, especially on my drums…and Rockwilder telling me that even though I needed to refine a few things, he saw my vision for pop music.  Those little gems right there stuck with me, and helped me to where I am now.
Do you have any artist you would like to work with?
I definitely wanna work with Wiz Khalifa, been wanting to work with him since way before “Black & Yellow” (lol).  And XV, he’s the truth.
What’s next?
There are a couple of videos still coming out from the “For My Generals 2” project, so watch out for those.  One of them is the Sean Strange record with Bizarre, NEMS, and Bundy…that one was directed by Joe Puma.  Another one is an “NYB” collab record with Cortez, D. Chamberz, DNA, and Willie Neutron…that one was directed by Xyayx.  After that, I’ve got some pop projects I’m starting up.
Where are you online?
Everywhere “slash” MightyFuzzYoung.  Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, ReverbNation.  And my email is easy too, mightyfuzzyoung [at] gmail [dot] com.
Any shout outs or plugs?
Definitely.  Gotta show love to the family, that’s Illseed Entertainment: CEO Gustapo, Sean Strange, Bundy, Jimmy T, Excel, Cuckoo’s Nest Recording Studio, and Cousin Pat Records.  Special shout to DJ Superstar Jay for all his support on the “For My Generals” series.  And of course, I thank every artist that showed me love on the collabos…there’s too many to name each of them, but real talk I appreciate each and every one of them.
