Meet Louis Quinn formerly known as Ronnie Sparkz; an American hip hop recording artist from The Bronx, New York whose mixtape “Crime Literature” will be released in 2015. Quinn is also one half of the hiphop writing duo #TheWhitestones and an avid hiphop fan.

“Growing up in the South Bronx, during the time of Terror Squad, Ruff Ryders, and D-Block; at a time also when New York Bloods was terrorizing the streets I became no stranger to the lifestyle my music depicts” says Quinn. In 2000, after repeating the 10th grade, Quinn dropped out of high school and began spending most of his time in the streets. Later that year while hustlin, he was brought in by a friend to work at a record store on Hunts Point in The Bronx, Quinn then was introduced to another aspiring rapper who encouraged him to pick up a pen and start writing. Originally using the name Ronnie Sparkz”, he eventually changed it to Louis Quinn to pay homage to his father and grandfather. In the mid 2000’s Quinn was also part of the rap group Take Money. Recording at Hollyhood Studios in Mt. Vernon which was home to the D Block’s Self Proclaimed King Of Beats, Vinny Idol (Styles P *Time Is Money* Sheek Louch *Walk Witt Me & After Taxes* etc.) who took a liking, even hosted a mixtape.

Grade School is the first official release as an artist off the upcoming project “Crime Literature” and is produced by the internet Popular producer Lexi Banks. The concept behind Crime Literature is rather simple. “Crime seems like second nature to most of the world. No matter where you’re from in this country or around the world for that matter there’s some form of crime going on. This country was built on crime….I’m just choosing to write about it”, says Quinn.
